Values
“Veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose.”
Why do we choose veganism?
We choose this for several reasons:
For the animals
We are all animals occupying the same planet and living with compassion for all life, not just human animals, should be the norm. The animal industry is one of the cruellest industries there is and needs to be stopped as it is an unnecessary exploitation of life. Roughly 56 Billion land and sea animals are killed each year for consumption of other uses. We want to represent to proof that other ways are possible which don’t exploit others.
For Health and the Environment
It is without a doubt that eating fresh fruit and vegetables daily instead of animal products is much better for your health and for the environment as many of studies have now shown. The environment is something we should be taking care of, not exploiting. This is why natural farming is the way forward as using this we will be working with nature and not against it.
Why do we choose community?
Humans, like a lot of animals are social beings and thrive better together. Working as a community we will build homes and a sustainable food source so we can all thrive, including the diversity of wildlife that natural farming will encourage.
As well as being social we all need time alone which is why it is important that the long-term goals of members having their own home is also important as well as communal areas. Living purposely with like-minded people is also a huge benefit to everyone involved.
Living as a community helps in times of crisis, illness and other unforeseen problems. Solving these issues as a community will allow us to discuss solutions that may not have come forward on our own.
Financially also we will benefit from being able to buy land at a reasonable price affordable to all members.
